THE EVOLUTION OF A FIGHTING SYSTEM

American Thai-Jitsu is a Fighting System that blends the major principles
of Muay Thai Kickboxing and Jiu-Jitsu into an art that is suitable for both
competition and personal self-defense.  Muay Thai Kickboxing is one of
the most feared martial arts in the world today that combines kicks,
punches, knees and elbows.  Jiu-Jitsu originated in Japan and is also one
of the most dominant martial arts in the world that combines throws,
submissions, superior positioning, and leverage to control a larger or
physically stronger opponent.  Blending these two arts together into one
fighting system enables the student to become well rounded as a striker
and a grappler.  In  addition to Muay Thai and Jiu-Jitsu, techniques from
Sambo and Wrestling are also incorporated into the system to complete
the evolution of this combat system.  

YOUTH PROGRAM

Youth classes are for children between the ages of 8-14 years old.  
Classes will be held on Monday and Wednesday evenings from
5:30-6:30pm .  Monday night will be Thai Kickboxing class.  Basics
including proper stance, footwork, punching, blocking, countering, drills,
mitt work and sparring will be taught.  Wednesday night will be Jiu-Jitsu
class.  Basics including theory, positioning, control, escapes, leverage,
basic submissions and sparring will be taught.  The Jiu-Jitsu class will be
taught with the students wearing a gi (uniform) so that students will also
be prepared for Jiu-Jitsu tournaments, if, at their own discretion, they
choose to participate in them.  

ADULT PROGRAM

The techniques of American Thai-Jitsu will be taught during the Striking
and Grappling classes for the adults which are Monday through Thursday
nights.  These classes will be taught in easy to follow lessons and all
techniques will be fully demonstrated in step by step slices.  Students will
be able to advance at their own pace and will be able to participate no
matter of their current ability level or their current level of conditioning.  
The goal of
American Thai-Jitsu is to offer a system that each individual
can use the techniques that they are comfortable with and efficient with to
either protect themselves, defeat their opponent, or just have fun getting
into shape with.    

This system can be used for the hard-core combat athlete, the weekend
warrior, or just for the student that wants to train and increase their
conditioning level and self- confidence.  Whatever your training goals may
